The Boeing Company is the oldest continually-operating airframe manufacturer in the United States, and among the largest in the world, so that to record in any detail the aircraft it has produced is a task of major proportions. Mr. Bowers has obviously taken immense trouble to collect as much relevant data as possible and one would be hard pressed to think of a facet of Boeing aircraft on which he has not touched. Every aircraft type and variant is mentioned and described in considerable detail, including aircraft built but not design by Boeing, such as the Blackburn Shark and the Consolidated Catalina. There is a profusion of photographs and three-view drawings, and a multiplicity of dates and facts.
