These 'periodicals' were bought at an important auction over 50 years ago in London. The medals that went with them were unfortunately subsequently sold.

All in incredible condition for 1899 and 1900!

As this was in the middle of the war, there are some wonderful (!?) pictures of actual battles and of course accounts of battles and the men in charge....

Two of the 'newspapers' are called "Black and White Budget" and the others are "The Illustrated London News", "The Graphic" and a supplement to "The king". They say they are registered at the post office as 'newspapers'.
