Scarce cover posted at Frederiksstad (note the double "S" in name) (12-3-1900) and franked 2 1/2d and forwarded via Johannesburg (12-3-1900) with pink "Geopend onder Krijswet" label of the ZAR Post Department to FRankfurt (23-4-1900).
Only two strikes of the "SS" name known the other dated 1909 - this thus the earliest and only Boer War period cover seen thus far.
