Generals Christiaan de Wet and Koos de la Reij "HANDS OFF" medal.  A pro-Boer medal commissioned by Baron Bachoven von Echt of Austria.  Medallists Anton Scharff and Franz Xaver Pawlik of the Utrecht Mint, the Netherlands.  Ref: Anna Smith No. 103;  Hern No. 232.

The reverse shows a Boer soldier with standard admonishing with extended arm a wounded and skulking lion (England).  Above: "HANDS OFF".

Yellow bronze.  Diameter 39.4 mm; mass 24.3 gm.  In nice condition; a little wear to the high points (e.g. noses).  A scarce medal.
