Amongst a whole lot of the usual old family photos which I bought a number of years ago, I came across this one which stood out. Upon closer inspection, it appears to me as if this could be what is called a "post mortem" photo.

I have been told that during the Boer War in the concentration camps, some photos of those poor small children who died were taken in order to one day show the father upon return from Commando.

In this very sad photo, it seems as if the little girl has passed away and in the foreground of the tent, a photo was taken in her remembrance. However I may be wrong, you be the judge.

I have no idea who the family was or where the photo was taken.

I unfortunately do not use SAPO under any circumstances and can consign with Postnet at R100. Alternatively the photo can be picked up here in Vryheid.

    I do not post overseas.
