"The Boer War was responsible for the most amazing variety of ornaments, keepsakes and commemorative pieces ranging from umbrella stands to postage stamps, manufactured in a host of different countries. Apart from South Africa and Britain, they mainly came from France, Germany, Holland, USA, Australia and Canada, and included artefacts made by prisoners-of-was scattered as far and wide as Ceylon, Bermuda and St. Helena."

 

pp. [xxxii] prelims + 239 text, index, profusely illustrated throughout with b/w, colour illustrations. Brown full leather boards, gilt titling to spine. Front board and spine detached from text block. Laminated pictorial DJ, some creases to lamination. DJ rubbed and faded to spine, previous bookseller's bar code to rear bottom DJ. Text-block edges show slight age-toning, signs of shelf-ear. Internally a fine copy.
