A Silver Ring which has been Fashioned from a ZAR Kruger 2 1/2 Shillings.  This is a most unusual example of Boer War prisoner of war coin art.  On the inside of the rings can be seen the obverse legend: "ZUID AFRIKAANSCHE REPUBLIEK" as well as the extremities of the bust.

The time and skill taken to make the ring has to be admired.  The ring has been so well made that there are no clues that I can see of the method used in its fabrication.

The mass of the ring is 6 gm (8 gm of the original coin was not used).  The inside diameter is 18.8 mm which is too small for most men's ring finger.
