Boer War Silver 'Siege of Ladysmith' Irish Spoon
This rare, solid silver spoon commemorating the 'Siege of Ladysmith' by one of the Irish Regiments present at the siege, is in excellent condition. The top features an engraved Irish harp, the stem has two entwined snakes with a small shamrock leaf below. The bowl is slightly gilded with the words 'Siege of Ladysmith 1899-1900'. The spoon is English hallmarked for Birmingham 1902 and stamped 'W.H.L.' for silversmith 'William Henry Leather'. It measures 10,7cm, has a nice weight and is in excellent condition.
