These Boer War Stereoscope cards (also known as Stereoview photographs, Stereographs or simple views) have two nearly identical images mounted side by side. They are looked at through a Stereoviewer or scope. Some of the edges of these cards have been worn/bent with few scuff marks due to use and age but considering the age of this vintage item, it is in good condition. Most of the cards on my Auction are by Underwood & Underwood Publishers.

These were most popular from 1854 to 1938 and were produced as collectibles about historical events as they provde a window into the late 19th and early 20th century culture.  They measure 18cm x 9cm.    A caption is printed in English and 5 foreign languages on the back of some, (not all) of these cards .
