Incorporating Bolivian Rainbow Peppers into your cooking is a delightful way to enhance flavors. They shine in salsas, where their heat and sweetness can elevate the dish. You can also use them in sauces, adding depth and a pop of color.
The plant has quite an open spreading habit (perfect for that cascade of colour) and grows to around 3 feet (90 cm) tall with a similar spread. Origin: Bolivia.
To grow Bolivian Rainbow Peppers, start seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before the last frost, burying them 1/16 inch deep in a seed starting mix. Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy, and maintain a temperature between 70-85°F (21-29°C). After the last frost, transplant seedlings into well-draining soil that is slightly acidic to neutral, spacing them about 18 inches apart. Provide at least 6 hours of sunlight daily and ensure the soil stays evenly moist, especially during fruit development.
