This exquisite Edwardian bonheur du jour (ladies writing desk) dates to circa 1905 and is crafted from rich mahogany with fine foliate carvings and elegant proportions.
The arched back features a beautifully detailed foliate fretwork panel above a shaped rectangular beveled mirror, flanked by two small drawers with intricate carved fronts. The shaped rectangular writing surface includes a tooled brown leather inset, adding both luxury and practicality.
Below, a row of three drawers offers additional storage, each adorned with brass escutcheons and loop handles. The desk stands gracefully on acanthus-capped cabriole legs, terminating in scroll feet with brass castors, allowing ease of movement.
