In 1973, the South African National Cultural History Museum commissioned Matthy Esterhuysen (author of the Book on the Burgerspond) to write a book on the Commemorative medals in honour of the ZAR’s President S.J.P. Kruger.
The commemorative medals described in the publication cover a period of seventy years, from 1884 when the South African republic sent a delegation to Holland, to 1954 when the Kruger statue was removed from the Station Square to the Church Square, Pretoria.
This large book has 164 pages with pictures of al the medals covered. Bar a nail scratch on the cover page, the book is in absolute pristine condition.
