The Endless Adventure - FS Oliver
A glorious little piece of Africana history here!!
In June 1949, this book was a gift from Sir John Noble Kennedy, then Governor of Southern Rhodesia, and his wife Catherine, to Godfrey Huggins, then Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia.
Major-General Sir John Noble Kennedy, GCMG, KCVO, KBE, CB, MC (31 August 1893 15 June 1970) was a senior British Army officer who served as Assistant Chief of the Imperial General Staff during World War II. He was Governor of Southern Rhodesia from 1947 to 1953.
Kennedy married Catherine Fordham (19051969) in 1942; on 2 January 1939 Catherine had been appointed lady-in-waiting to Princess Helena Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg (18701948).
Godfrey Martin Huggins, 1st Viscount Malvern CH KCMG PC KStJ FRCS (6 July 1883 8 May 1971), was a Rhodesian politician and physician. He served as the fourth Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia from 1933 to 1953 and remained in office as the first Prime Minister of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland until October 1956, becoming the longest serving prime minister in British Commonwealth history, until 1961.
