Borage, also knows as starflower, is a herb notable for its vibrant purple flowers and medicinal properties. In traditional medicine, borage has been used to dilate blood vessels, act as a sedative and treat seizures. The leaves are sometimes also ground up and steeped in hot water to brew herbal tea.

Borage flower and leaves are used for fever, cough and depression. Borage is also for a hormone problem called adrenal insufficiency, for blood purification, to increase urine flow, to prevent inflammation of the lungs and to promote sweating.

The Flower tastes exactly like cucumber and makes a refreshing addition to salads.
