Hennie Aucamp (20 Januarie 1934 - 20 Maart 2014) was 'n bekroonde Suid-Afrikaanse digter en skrywer van hoofsaaklik kortverhale.[1] Daar is ook al na hom verwys as 'die vader van die Suid-Afrikaanse letterkundige kabaret'[2] en hy het 'n belangrike plek onder die beoefenaars van die Afrikaanse kontreikuns beklee.[3]Aucamp was by uitstek 'n kortverhaalskrywer, maar het ook heelwat sterk verhoogtekste gelewer, veral vir die kabaretgenre - onder meer Bromrner in die boord, Die sewe doodsondes, Met permissie gese en Slegs vir almal. Sy werk is ook gewild vir prosa-aanbiedings en talle van sy gedigte is getoonset. Die Afrikaanse sangeres Amanda Strydom het hom as haar mentor beskou. In 1982 is hy met die Hertzogprys vir sy prosawerk bekroon, en in 2004 met die Fleur du Cap-toekenning vir sy lewenslange bydrae tot die groei en ontwikkeling van die Suid-Afrikaanse teater.
