An EXCELLENT example of Border War/ Rhodesian Bush War , 1970s SA Security Forces  .925 Silver Star for Combating Terrorism Medal w/ Service Bars. This piece appears to be in a VF+  state of preservation , with detailed Graphic Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Surface Toning noted. Ribbon present w/ associated Service Bars ( representing 3 x Tours of Duty). 

This Award was issued - to recognize Service rendered by members of the South African Security Forces; who had served for a period of 3 months in the Operational Area of either SWA or Rhodesia. The piece is an example of the first issue awards presented to personnel - with the Medal being instituted in 1974 ( in recognition of prior and future services).
