An EXCELLENT example of a RARE, 1980s SA Army 1st Battalion Cape Corps Infantry Stable Belt w/ Buckle. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state of preservation , with detailed Unit Graphic Relief on obverse of Belt Buckle. All insignia present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surfaces. Item remains used / issued & may display a degree of material discoloration. Brass Unit applique appears to be complete, material is in good order. Metallic fixtures will display some degree of surface contact rust/ verdigris. It must be noted that only one screw retention band is present at rear of Belt Buckle.
This piece would have been utilised by members of the SA Army / SADF - who served in the 1st Battalion Cape Corps as part of their formal / parade uniform attire for affiliation display.
