Structural integrity of the Brass is in good order. The Gilded surface finish has experienced a degree of Wear. All pin -holes / mounting ports are evident. Piece is ex-Mount.

An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1980s SADF Infantry Unit Plaque Mount Brass Escutcheon Plate. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Gilded finish appears to have worn in several areas - 40 % intact remains. Brass plate integrity remains in good order. Mounting ports / pin-holes remain complete. 

This piece appears to have been Mounted on a wooden frame- for the promotion of Unit Affiliation and promote member cohesion.
