An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1980s SADF M76 / M15A1 Gasmask System w/ Unissued Filter & Patt.80 Nutria Satchel. These pieces appear to be in a VF/F state of preservation with detailed fittings and adjustable components. All necessary parts appear present. Minimal Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Rubber face-mask component is complete, remaining flexible and retains all straps & buckles. Perspex lenses appear clear and securely mounted - allowing for a good field of view. Lower Filter attachment mechanism is intact and allows for efficient application of the canister.
A 40mm Issue Filter remains unused - retaining the original seal and cap fitting. The Pattern 80 ' Donkey Brown' Rip-stop Material storage satchel retains functional press-stud closure and slide-buckle securing system.
These pieces would have been issued to SADF personnel- as part of the personal kit, provided for the defensive purposes against Biological and Chemical weapons.
