The Botterboom is a thick stemmed succulent bush that grows in The Western and Northern Cape as well as in the Southern parts of Namibia. It is a winter grower that sheds it's leaves during the hot summer months. Flowers appear around January/ February before the new leaves start to grow in March/April.
Seeds are best sown in Autumn or winter at relatively low temperatures (9 - 22*C) High temperatures will negatively affect the germination percentage.
Just like with all Tylecodons, these seeds have a limited lifespan and must be sown within 6 monhts of receiving them. So if you have tried them before from another seller and had no germination at all, it is likely the seeds where not fresh.
Harvested March 2026, near Barrydale.
