A boxed fish set by Mappin and Webb with bone handles and solid silver tines and blades assayed in Sheffield in 1908. There are five knives and five forks in the set. Knives measure 22.5cm and forks 19. The silver is in very good condition, but the bone has seen some wear. Two of the knives and all of the forks have some sort of slit in the bone, although on only one knife and one fork does it show badly on the front. So essentially a useable set of four. The oak lined box has a lift out tray for the knives and the silk lined interior is branded for Mappin and Webb, Manufacturing goldsmiths and silversmiths, London, Sheffield and Johannesburg. It is in good condition, but is missing it's brass cartouch. A new one could be cut. Please do not bid unless you are happy with the condition.
