An interesting old scientific item. This boxed surveyor's tool was made by Starrett in Athol, Mass, USA. It consists of some sort of telescope/eye piece (31cm), which would have originally been fitted to a stand which is no longer with it with some king of vertical angle measure and a separate horixontal angle measure that I presume would fit onto it. I have no idea whether it is working or not. Also with it is a pamphlet for Starrett transits and leveling instruments. The wooden box is stamped with Starrett, it has its clasps and leather carrying handle and measures 35 x 12 x 20cm. It has two small dividers inside and is somewhat scratched outside. An interesting item.
