BP Sporting Tokens of South African Sport Heroes of the 1960s

On page 28 of Hern’s Handbook on the Tokens of Southern Africa, the BP Treasure Trove tokens are mentioned, but for some unknown reason, the series I am offering here, is not named.

These BP tokens were probably issued in the late 1960s or early 1970s as all these South African Sporting Heroes are from that era.

This set is either complete or very near to complete and consists of the following names: Eddie Barlow, Gonda Butters, Bruce Dalling, Frik Du Preez, Dawie de Villiers, Sally Little (not seen before), Hannes Marais, (not seen before), Gary Player (not seen before), Bob Hewitt, Lee McGregor, Ronnie Mann, (not seen before), Alan Parsons, Graeme Pollock, Barry Richards, Cynthia Vincent and Snowy Walker
