This is a striking example of mid-century ISRAELIANA craftsmanship. A heavy BRASS tray featuring intricate embossed detailing and vibrant blue enamelling. It was produced by the renowned TAMAR workshop in Israel, known for their high-quality decorative metalwork.
The back of each handle is clearly engraved: "MADE IN ISRAEL / EXPORT QUALITY / TAMAR", confirming its authenticity and provenance.
This tray has lived a life and wears its history with pride.
AUTHENTIC WEAR: There are some small, age-appropriate dents and a visible area in the blue enamel background where the paint has chipped (please see photos for detail).
THE "DIY" CHAIN: A previous owner attached a gold-tone chain to the triangular fitting on the reverse for wall-mounting. I have left this in place to ensure no damage is caused to the brass by attempting a removalyou can decide whether to keep it for display or clip it off.
PATINA: The brass has a lovely, natural aged tone. It could be polished to a high shine, but many collectors prefer this authentic vintage look.
