Brass Cornet - EM Fauconier Gand

This is a band instrument that would have been used in an orchestra type environment. It dates from the 1930's.

There is lettering on the instrument that basically refers to awards and achievements that the makers has won in the past.

The condition is not very good. This was also probably silver plated at one stage, this has now worn away. I would suggest that this is going to need a professional cleaning and restoration in order to be useable.

I do have a valuation certificate from a professional antique valuer that values the item at 25 to 35 English pounds (+- R 460.00 to R 650.00) with an insurance value of approximately 60 pounds (+- R 1100.00).

This item would be ideal for a collector and / or someone who is prepared to restore it back to it's orginal state. It would make it worth a lot more.
