Vintage 1970s Brass Kienzle Germany Mechanical Alarm Clock with Luminescent Hands and Hourly Markers Heavy 524g Needs Repair

SOLID AND HEFTY VINTAGE  KIENZLE GERMAN MECHANICAL BRASS ALARM CLOCK. CIRCA 1970S. IT HAS LUMINESCENT HANDS AND HOURS AND GLOWS UP BEAUTIFULLY IN THE DARK. MADE WITH A SOLID BRASS FRAME IT WEIGHS 524G.
 
IT HAS TWO SMALL SUSPENSION HOLES ON THE SIDES AND PROPABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN HUNG ON A FRAME. THE TIME CAN BE SET BUT IT IS NOT WINDING UP AND NOT TICKING. NEEDS REPAIR.

KIENZLE CLOCKS (1822-2010):
Kienzle Uhren GmbH are Germany's oldest watchmakers. The company was founded by Johannes Schlenker in 1822 in Schwenningen, Germany.
Sixty years later, the company had about 20 employees and was making about 20,000 wall-clocks and table clocks per year.
In 1883, Jakob Kienzle became part of the family by marriage, and took the helm of the company, becoming its sole owner in 1897. He succeeded in revolutionizing production by mass-producing individual components and then assembling them. This modern manufacturing approach led to a massive expansion, and by 1939, Kienzle had over 3,500 employees and was making about 5 million wall-clocks and table clocks per year.
However by the year 2000 European clock makers found it more and more difficult to compete with Asian imports and this once great German company had to file for bankruptcy in 2010, and attempts to restart business ended in another bankruptcy in 2014.
