SMALL 8CM HIGH SBRASS OR BRONZE AMPHORA SHAPED VASE. HEAVY FOR ITS SIZE 289G.
 
AMPHORA SHAPED VASES WAS COMMON IN THE CLASSICAL GREEK PERIOD FROM 900BC TO 700BC.
 
Amphorae, which survive in great numbers, were used as storage wheat and olives and transport vessels for oil, and wine. 
 
Amphora were typically made of pottery and was characterized by a larger oval body and a narrow neck with two handles. Amphorae were a common sight in ancient Greek and later Roman societies.
