This "Sacred Heart" wall lamp by artist Brett Murray is from the mid- to late-1990s. It measures 32 x 52 cm. Condition is good.
Murray's lights were made from hand-cut metal and Perspex, materials he also uses in his art. They were priced as decor items but sometimes exhibited with his and other artists' work, as was the case with the "Boogie Lights" collaboration with Conrad Botes, shown at The Bijou in Observatory, Cape Town (1999); Sterkwerk Gallery in the Netherlands (2001); Cape Town's AVA Gallery (2002); Moba Art in Belgium (2002); and Valerius Art Gallery in Luxembourg, alongside work by Norman Catherine, Steven Cohen, Cameron Platter, and François Thango (2018).
Murray has not made these lights for well over a decade.
I am in Somerset West. You can collect any time. I can also arrange collection in Technopark, Stellenbosch during office hours.
