BREWERY ANTIQUE

This brass antique has been commented on by brewery historians from several countries (emails supplied) and the general opinion is that it is a barrel-to-bottle hand operated filler from the turn of the previous century. No one is old enough to recognise it for sure.

It is engraved ‘Castle Brewery’ so could possibly have pumped Charles’ first brew back in the late 1800’s.

It makes an outstanding conversation piece for a bar, but at 700mm and 7.6kg you might want to lend it to a beer museum near you until you have extended your fittings. Whatever you do please don’t use it as a starter piece for your steam-punk project. It is much too important an artifact for that.
