"Bridget Jones's Diary" is a novel by British author Helen Fielding, first published in 1996. It's written in the form of a personal diary and follows the year-long journal entries of Bridget Jones, a single, thirty-something woman living in London. The story humorously chronicles Bridget's romantic misadventures, career struggles, and attempts to improve herself, all while dealing with her eccentric family and friends.

Bridget is a relatable and endearing character who navigates the ups and downs of dating, dieting, and trying to find her place in the world. The novel gained widespread popularity for its witty writing style, candid portrayal of modern single life, and Bridget's relatable insecurities and quirks. It was followed by two sequels, "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (1999) and "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" (2013), as well as film adaptations starring Rene Zellweger as Bridget Jones.
