Original British Boer War style haversack as used in later years by the SA Police. Although it does not appear in official "List of Changes" documentation, this is the haversack most commonly see in Boer War photos being used with Pattern 1888 Slade Wallace equipment and later with MI bandoliers. This specific example was either re-issued in later years to he SAP or was manufactured to Boer War examples. The SAP was renowned for receiving and using semi-outdated UDF and British military equipment.

The internals show a SAP and a maker's name and date (unreadable), as well as a member or troop number written on. The back has a tear and one of the two front buttons is missing, otherwise nice original condition.

Ideal for Boer War displays and re-enactments.
