BROAD STERLING SILVER RING. 925. A HEAVY 5,8 grams!

   

   

  

In among the sparkle of gemstones, sometimes its lovely to find a solid piece of jewellery that you can keep on your hand and wear every day in an easy manner - and yet you want something big enough and unusual enough to be different. This rather nice vintage piece fits the bill. It is designed as a broad band of silver that has been crafted into a basket weave. It is slightly domed, presenting itself 5mm above the finger. The woven part of the ring is open thread in design. Apart from it being an attractive design, it also allows the finger to 'breathe'. The ring head is large (16 mm length-wise and 20mm across the finger) and continues all the way around to a strong solid silver shank. Weighing in at 5,8grams, this is a substantial piece of jewellery! It's a vintage piece - can't date it exactly but I don't think it is seriously old - but the design and feel is unmistakably modern. It is big and bold - a very strong and striking ring!

This ring bears the hallmark for solid sterling silver. Its not hallmarked for England but that is where I found it!
