I am pleased to offer this beautiful vintage Art Deco glass lamp made in Germany by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik ) Ikora dating to the 1930’s.
The glass base is predominantly brown to yellow at the top, with a large veination pattern in bubbles and darker browns.
It has a light bulb socket mounted on top of the stem, in a Bakelite fitting and one in the base of the lamp, so that the base is lit from the inside when the light is on. This creates a lovely effect, accentuating the veination.
Original metal lamp base cover is copper.
The lamp is 31 cm tall with the light fitting. The glass base is approx. 22 cm high and 20 cm in diameter at it most bulbous part.
Condition of the base externally is Very Good with no chips, cracks or repairs to the base.
Only a small section of the metal cover for the base has been cleaned to reveal that it is Copper. It is Very Good and should polish up to a nice shine. The cover contains two switches to turn the lights on and off.
The top light bulb fitting is in working order. The lower one has not been tested. The fittings and wiring seem in good condition and there seems to be no reason why it would not work.
This lamp base is sold without a shade.
