 The word Buddha is a Sanskrit word meaning "The Awakened One".  This means one who is awakened to Reality and who understands true nature of the mind, the world, and all perceptive beings.

The Buddha was an Indian prince named Siddhartha, who gave up his throne in order to search for the Truth, to find a way to bring relief to the sufferings of humanity. After many years of diligent practice, he reached Supreme Enlightenment while sitting under a bodhi tree. It was there that he realised that all sentient beings are fundamentally complete and faultless! However, most people do not realize it because of their misbeliefs and desires.

 The necklace is made of leather cord and is approximately 44cm.
