Try soaking your beach towel in vinegar if it has a musty odour before you put it through the machine. Add one cup of white vinegar a tub of cold water and leave them to soak for at least an hour. Afterwards, put it directly into the washing machine and wash it at 30-40 Degrees.

Add a half a cup of baking soda to your wash. Not only will it get rid of detergent build-up that can make towels feel stiff, but also eliminate any odour.
