BUSH BEAN CONTENDER - Heirloom variety

Contender produces a huge yield of tender bush beans that have excellent flavor and very reliable. Beans start producing about a week before most other varieties, from 50 days. Bean pods grow up to 20cm long but are best eaten early when they are 12cm and stringless. Cooks up tender, cans and freezes with no loss of quality. Pick on the early end of the harvest date for smaller and more tender beans.

These beans are delicious gently steamed or raw in salads. Pick frequently to encourage more growth.
