WINTERGREEN - Heirloom variety of green bean. 

The Wintergreen is a delcious green bean.  Plant every 2 weeks for a continuous harvest. Start planting after your last frost, and continue to plant until 70 days before your first expected frosts.   (Plant between September to the start of March)  For the limited space gardener, these can be easily grown in containers.  If possible, plant in a container no less than 20 cm deep.    

Pick frequently and look after the plants to extend the harvest.  They are virtually stringless so they are tender to eat.  When picked young, they are perfect for salads.  When they have fattened up, steam them for a few minutes. A great way to help children learn to love eating their veggies!
