Triple bill of classic westerns. 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' (1969) stars Paul Newman and Robert Redford as Butch and Sundance, a pair of outlaws finding it increasingly difficult to make a living in the Wild West. With big business constantly extending its influence, and the law following hot on its heels, the everyday business of robbing banks and trains is becoming more and more of a strain. Butch and Sundance decide to cut their losses and head for a new life in Bolivia with their friend, Etta Place (Katharine Ross). However, on reaching their destination, things, if anything, seem worse - they now have to rob banks in which people only speak Spanish. 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' (1966), Sergio Leone's classic spaghetti western, is the final part of the 'Dollars' trilogy that brought Clint Eastwood to Hollywood's attention. During the American Civil War, the paths of three loners, Joe (Eastwood), Tuco (Eli Wallach) and Setenza (Lee Van Cleef), cross as they search for the grave of Bill Carson, said to be home to a hidden fortune. As the war intensifies, however, the treasure seekers find themselves drawn into a battle that dwarfs their own mercenary pursuits. 'The Magnificent Seven' (1960), a re-make of Akira Kurosawa's 'Seven Samurai' (1954), features performances from Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Yul Brynner and Robert Vaughn. A small Mexican village, terrorised by the cutthroat Calvera (Wallach) and his bandits, comes together to hire a team of seven mercenaries to expel the vile interloper. The seven, led by Chris (Brynner), set about the job of training the terrified townfolk in the art of killing before preparing to mete out their own brand of justice.
