Butterfly pea is a stunning vine that grows well in containers or straight into the ground. They are not very difficult to keep and they don't have a lot of pests and diseases to worry about either. Just make sure that they are in a full sun position with soil that drains well. If you have clay soil, add some river sand to it that will ensure good drainage in the rainy seasons.
If you do get frost and your pea vine is not in a container that you can take it away from the frost, it will die back but will come back in summer providing you don't over water in winter. Also good to add some bark chips to protect the roots against the frost.
