BYGONE ANTIQUE (1891 1920 ERA) DEE MADE IN BRITAIN ELECTRIC COPPER KETTLE

ONE OF THE FIRST ELECTRIC KETTLES MADE. A BRITISH MADE KETTLE FROM THE EARLY NINETIENTH CENTURY (1891-1920 ERA). THE HEATING ELEMENT STILL IS PLACED IN A SEPARATE COMPARTMENT UNDER THE WATER (I HAVE ADDED A PHOTO TO TRY AND SHOW THAT) . IT HAS A WOODEN HANDLE PAINTED RED, A CUTE SINGLE PIECE LID AND 3 BAKELITE KNOB FEET.
The first kettle to use electricity to heat water came from Carpenter Electric Company in Chicago in1891. However, the water took more than 10 minutes to come to a boil because of a major design problem the heating element was in a separate compartment, rather than in the water as is the case in modern kettles.
In the 1920s, the Swan Company solved the problem by sealing the element in a metallic cylinder and placing it directly inside the water. Heating occurred much faster and before long, other manufacturers used a similar design.
MARKINGS: THE LETTERS EE INSIDEA BIGGER LETTER D. BRITISH MADE. I COULD NOT FOUND OUT MORE ABOUT THE COMPANY BUT I SAW SOME PREMIER ELECTRIC AND AN CP.EDA KETTLES THAT LOOK VERY SIMILAR ONLINE.
ALSO THE NUMBER: 00/20 VOLTS650 AND CAT NO 202 NO 93560K
Size: 22CM WIDE FROM SPOUT EDGE 25CM HIGH 15CM DIAMETER BOTTOM
Condition: A FEW MINOR DENTS. ONE OF THE BAKELITE FEET IS LOOSE. BUT IN OVERALL GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION. NOT TESTED THOUGH. DO NOT KNOW IF WORKING.
