Product Description

C-12: Final Resistance is set in the aftermath of a hostile ground invasion of Earth by ravaging alien forces. At first the purpose of the invasion is unknown, but, to the horror of all surviving humans, the objectives soon become clear: the aliens plan to use the planet Earth to harvest all non-radioactive carbon from the planet. Most of the human race has been decimated, and those captured alive are used for "droning," the process by which the aliens reprogram humans into cyborg warriors. It is up to you, playing as resistance fighter Riley Vaughan, to save the earth from impending doom. Armed with an imaging unit that has been implanted to replace his left eye, as well as a powerful arsenal of weapons, Vaughan must complete tasks, collect items, and destroy the enemy in order to carry out his missions and uncover the secrets behind the alien invasion. C-12: Final Resistance will allow players to explore dynamic, darkly detailed environments that include more than 35 different missions and objectives.

Review

C-12 Final Resistance is another post-apocalyptic view of the future; you play the bionic Lieutenant Vaughan sent in to clean up Earth from hordes of robotic enemies. The game looks stylish and is a combination of puzzle solving and good old-fashioned shooting. The gameplay is entertaining and the added bonus of a first-person mode gives things an extra dimension. The game can become frustrating because of some clumsy controls, though once mastered it does become involving and you're soon swept up in its varied and diverse missions.

With an arsenal of weapons at your disposal it's time to save the Earth. From stealth and mayhem to search and rescue, this game should have enough features to keep anyone happy. With its great looks and entertaining gameplay C-12 pushes the Psone's limits, even though it lacks the sophistication of Syphon Filter or Metal Gear Solid--so if you're looking for something different you might be slightly disappointed. --Rob Holliday
