It is characteristic of the Belle Époque or Edwardian era, often associated with the Art Nouveau style which flourished from roughly 1895-1910

These caskets typically feature beveled glass sides and an ormolu (gilt brass) frame, as well as a hinged lid often adorned with an eglomise panel a reverse-painted or printed glass scene.

Many such boxes served as souvenirs from famous locations or events, with the lid depicting landmarks like cathedrals, palaces, or scenes from World's Fairs, such as the 1900 Paris Exposition as hinted by the image context

While ideal for storing small keepsakes or jewellery, these caskets are also valued as decorative antique pieces, reflecting the craftsmanship and aesthetics of their period

Possibly a tiny nip or two to the glass panels

Size is 80 x 80 x 65mm high

The glass and silk lining is in excellent condition , the casing has age related usage wear but is fully intact

I refrained from cleaning this piece so as to keep the patina intact
