THEY SHOULD BE PLANTED IN CONTAINERS TO START THEM OFF (SEE OUR PLASTIC SEEDLING TRAYS). FILL THE TRAY ALMOST TO THE TOP WITH PLANTING MIXTURE. SPRINKLE SIFTED SAND ON TOP AND THEN SIMPLY SPRINKLE THE SEEDS ON TOP. DO NOT COVER THE SEEDS WITH SOIL - THEY NEED LIGHT TO GERMINATE. STAND THE CONTAINER IN WATER TILL SOIL IS MOIST, THEN REMOVE. COVER THE CONTAINER WITH GLASS OR CLEAR PLASTIC UNTIL THE SEEDS HAVE GERMINATED AND SPINES APPEAR. THEN REMOVE COVER. DO NOT ALLOW TO DRY OUT. TRANSPLANT WHEN LARGE ENOUGH TO HANDLE.
