Caddie Woodlawn is a real adventurer. She would rather hunt than sew and plough than bake. She is friends with the Indians. It is based on the life and memories of the authors grandmother. Her spirit and sense of fun have made this book a classic that readers have taken to heart for over fifty years. We were encouraged at the style in which this book was written, using accounts of simple childhood experiences to write a book!
