Seeds of the calendula are quite large and easy to germinate. After you plant them, they will always be there. They are not a perennial, but since they reseed so readily, they just keep coming back.

Another nice feature of this flower is it's capability to adapt to a pot. Often called a pot marigold, it can be started indoors in a pot, and even grown in a pot outdoors. Grow in full sun. The large blooms are not only very colorful yellow or orange, but they are edible, so can be used in salads, on cakes, in drinks, or as a garnish for any dish. To me the plant has a faint rhubarb scent. This plant is one of the easiest to grow of all flowers and requires little maintenance. It can withstand some drought, and will still do well.
