Description
The complete eighth series of the BBC drama, adapted from Jennifer Worth's memoirs, about a group of midwives working in poverty-stricken East London during the 1960s. In this series, Trixie (Helen George) returns to Poplar, launches a new clinic and also starts volunteering at the Women's Advice Centre, while two new nuns, Sister Hilda (Fenella Woolgar) and Sister Frances (Ella Bruccoleri), join the Nonnatus House staff. Meanwhile, the midwives confront issues including the increase of hospital births, illegal abortions and an overprotective, worried expectant mother who lost her first child.
The collection also includes the 2018 Christmas special.
