Plans to build your own Caller Identification unit that converts the CID information received from a Telkom line after the first ring to a RS232 string than can be used by your own software.
Projects with this unit are endless:
You can for example create a simple database with a lookup function to retreive a customers Name and Account details and display it on the screen before you pick-up the phone.
The included sample software make the computer 'speak' the number that is calling - the idea is to help a blind person.
The plans is based on the PIC16F628 microcontroller from microchip(TM) & a CMX602 IC
(Source code for the PIC16F84 also available.)
What you get:
If you want to build this project but don't have the PIC programmer, I can supply you with a pre-programmed PIC16F84 at a cost of R100.00 (shipping included -normal parcel counter to counter)
Please note: Your Telkom line must have CID activated for this unit to function.
After I received your payment, I will send the plans via e-mail with all the files attached (approx 15MB). No shipping cost
Please use your BoB username as reference for your payment.
