Description:
Annual with branching stems and alternate, toothed leaves. Single white flowers in late summer and autumn. There are numerous named cultivars available with a wide range of flower colour and form.

Cultivation:
Rich well drained soil in a sunny position.

Propagation:
Easy from seed sown mid-spring, into well-drained, average, sandy soil, though most soils may be tolerated; may also be started indoors at 18-21C, and transplanted 3-4 weeks later, setting 30cm apart. Good light and a protected location ideal; does well in hot, dry weather.

Design and Other Uses:
Cottage/Informal, Flower arranging, Beds and borders.
