Canon 15X50 IS - Binocular. Outfitted with their proprietary Vari-Angle prism electronic image stabilization system, the Canon 15x50 IS All-Weather Image Stabilized Binocular is an ideal optic for bird and nature watching, marine use, or astronomical use. Its quick-response time and 0.7 correction angle easily compensates for the common hand-shake that can make viewing through binoculars of this magnification difficult or disorientating. A single-activation button located precisely where the right forefinger naturally rests makes using them easy and allows you to concentrate on viewing without distractions.
For increased usage, the 15x50 IS will work as full-featured binocular when the image stabilization is not being used - even if the batteries are dead or removed. Optically, it is built with ultra-low dispersion (UD) glass elements and matching doublet field-flatteners, with their Super Spectra anti-reflection coatings to produce bright and clear high-contrast images without distortion across the entire wide field of view. Protecting the optics and electronics is an armored chassis that benefits from ergonomically-designed grips, and a standard 1/4"-20 tripod mount socket for an even steadier view. Right-eye dioptric correction, twist-up eyecups, and a wide interpupillary adjustment range rounds out the features of this binocular that will become your go-to optic for any outdoor activity.
Canon 15x50 are high-power binoculars with IS and an all-weather design. Designed for professionals and enthusiasts, ideal for birding.
Designed for professionals and uncompromising enthusiasts, these high-magnification binoculars incorporate innovative technologies that set a new standard of performance. The 15x50IS AW is unique among high-magnification binoculars because they incorporate Canon's remarkable Optical Image Stabilizer technology.
Proven highly effective in Canon video camcorders and professional lenses, this revolutionary system employs a novel Vari- Angle Prism that instantly and continuously makes adjustments to maintain a steady image.
With Canon Optical Image Stabilizer, you can enjoy the resolving power of these binoculars without a tripod. You can even use them from within moving vehicles. Their shake-free performance not only enhances your ability to view fine detail but also reduces eye strain and fatigue.
The IS series feature eyepiece lenses with a unique Doublet Field Flattener, which dramatically reduces curvature of field. As a result, there is none of the image distortion and blurring at the periphery typical of high-magnification binoculars. This advanced design also results in long eye relief, which enables eyeglass wearers to view the entire field without vignetting.
Canon superior optical engineering also provides unusually wide apparent field-of view. This is particularly important in high magnification binoculars as it makes it easier to locate your desired subject.
The Canon 15x50 IS Binocular delivers truly outstanding optical performance and a well-stabilized, high-magnification view. Whether upon the water's edge or high in the upper deck of a stadium, the 15x50 IS will put you right in the middle of the action. The 15x50 IS binocular's great for big game hunters, spectators of the more distant sports such as surfing, or anyone with a hunkering for incredible pulling power which can actually be observed without a tripod. It is a water resistant design with a tripod socket, to allow for easy mounting to tripods or monopods for extended periods of observation.
The 15x50 IS was not designed to be habitually worn around the neck, but if you prefer to carry your optic in this manner then consider a thick neoprene strap instead of the supplied flat woven strap. If you'll be using the binocular in cold weather, it is highly recommended to use lithium batteries instead of alkaline.
The 15x50 IS is threaded to accept 58mm filters, which is convenient for using polarizers around water, but it also means that during extremely bright or humid conditions you can use a pair of 58mm lens hoods to help shield the objective lenses from dew and stray light (and thus improve contrast).
