Picture Quality and Lens

Motion Detection Technology works in the background to instantly evaluate how fast your subject is moving. i-Contrast solves difficult lighting situations where you have extremely bright and dark areas appearing in the same image by brightening up dark areas while keeping the bright parts as they are.
A special red eye fix algorithm on the camera automatically eliminates red eye from occurring in your pictures. You can remove red eye during image reviewing, or for more convenience, set the camera to automatically detect and eliminate red eye from your shots as they are taken.
Canon's new Blink Detection uses the power of Face Detection to determine whether any subject in the previous shot had closed eyes. If closed eyes are detected, a "blink warning" icon appears for 3 seconds, allowing you to retake the shot before your subject or subjects move on.
The MPEG movie mode allows you to capture movies with sound at a good quality 30 frames per second at HD-ready quality (720p) resolution. The zoom can also be used while capturing video.
